Arsenal; A 'Springboard' to 'Bigger' Teams

While Samir Nasri is on the verge of a massive £200,000 per week transfer to Manchester City, reports from France suggest that he had always seen Arsenal as a 'springboard' for a move to a 'bigger' club.

Nasri always had a view of moving from North
London as soon as he had made a name for
himself.
The Frenchman rejected Arsenal's contract deal of £90,000 per week, which led to interest from big spenders City, who are close to sealing a £22 million deal for the former Marseille man.

French news outlet Le Parisien has revealed that Samir has always seen Arsenal as a 'springboard to a bigger club' and that he 'wanted to make a name for himself on a continental stage' and then 'leave quickly'.

However, Le Parisien also says Nasri met up with QPR's Adel Taarabt last week, and told him that Machester City 'were not his first choice' and that he had always 'dreamt of a move to Real Madrid, Barcelona or Manchester United'. It is thought that City's offer of £200,000 per week was just too good to turn down.

Talks between the clubs are ongoing, although various sources suggest that the deal may well be finalised very soon.
